It was so much fun to see everyone all dressed up and excited about the awards received at the Miss Harriet's Dance Studio awards banquet on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Burton Manor. It was a wonderful celebration for our 60th Anniversary. Miss Harriet was on hand to enjoy the festivities along with many of our dancer's families and friends. It was her dedication to the art of dance that brought us in part to this historic milestone.  Miss Harriet and Miss Terri I'd like to take a moment to thank the staff for a great year. The dancer's learned a lot and there was an energetic and enthusiastic response this year from our students and parents. Here are a few examples: Each year Miss Nicole offers her jazz classes a pizza party if they reach a certain goal of "getting their splits" down...for the first time in the seven years she's offered this, one of her classes actually met the goal! Miss Nicole did "deliver" on her promise. Miss Charlotte had two of her Cecchetti exam students, Ahnna Miller (Grade One) and Katelyn Bonanno (Grade Two) score "over the top" on their exams. (Miss Peggy was proud to have her student, Miss Katy pass her Cecchetti Teacher's Exam for Grade One.) Finally, the Competition Team parents tackled fundraising. Mrs. Bonanno and Mrs. Howe led the charge, and for a first time effort did a GREAT job. Each student received a trophy at the banquet. There were several specialty awards. (A complete list can be found on the This 'n' That page of the website.) But, I got the "biggest kick" when I had the pleasure to introduce our Chorus Line dancers at the beginning of the program. The Chorus Line program has grown over the years. It remains our signature line...for 60-years and counting! My personal congratulations to those who continue to honor this tradition: Senior Chorus
